Hip Preservation
Hip preservation refers to advanced surgical techniques aimed at treating structural problems of the hip joint in young and active individuals—before arthritis develops. These procedures are designed to restore joint function, relieve pain, and delay or prevent the need for hip replacement.
Common Conditions Treated
Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) Abnormal bone shapes in the hip cause friction, leading to cartilage and labral damage.
Hip Dysplasia A shallow or underdeveloped socket (acetabulum) that fails to cover the femoral head properly, leading to instability and early arthritis.
Labral Tears Often caused by FAI or dysplasia, these tears in the cartilage rim of the hip socket can lead to pain, locking, or clicking.
